Our annual Los Angeles event on Tuesday, November 14, 2024, underscored the importance of our mission: strengthening Jewish identity and deepening connections to Israel among young people. In light of the challenges since October 7, passing the torch of Jewish pride, education, and resilience has never been more critical — especially on college campuses.

Among our speakers were National Board Chair Phil de Toledo, LA Leadership Cabinet Chair Simon Mendelson, and our President and CEO Elias Saratovsky, who shared the latest updates on Birthright’s initiatives and provided personal insight into why this work is so meaningful. We were also deeply inspired by Birthright Israel alumni Yasmeen Ohebsion and Eli Tsives, whose powerful stories highlighted the lasting impact of the program. Their experiences reinforced the importance of staying committed to ensuring that this life-changing opportunity reaches every eligible young Jewish adult.

It was a wonderful time to connect as a community, be inspired by each other, and hear from the incredible young alumni who shared their stories. With over 850,000 alumni, we have accomplished so much, but there is still much more to be done. Birthright Israel remains committed to sending as many young Jewish adults to Israel as possible, investing in and shaping the Jewish future.
