Did you know Birthright Israel participants come from every corner of the United States? Many participants choose to go on community buses or join national trips where they meet new friends from around the country. In this week’s edition of What Alumni Are Saying This Week we’re going to hear from participants from the sunshine state of Florida.

What made your Birthright Israel trip so special?
I loved getting to meet so many new Jewish friends so quickly and being able to explore the beautiful State of Israel that does not seem so foreign anymore.
– Abriana Weissman, Tampa, FL

What is a memory from your trip you will cherish forever?
Honestly, I will cherish the entire trip. From riding camels at the Bedouin tents to praying at the Western Wall, my Birthright Israel trip was a phenomenal experience, not only as an individual, but as a group. I made the most amazing memories with friends, who have become some of my best friends. I cannot wait to continue learning more about my heritage with like-minded people.
– Alexis Butt, Davie, FL

Why are you thankful for this life-changing experience?
I have seen so much and experienced new things with new American and Israeli friends. Over a month after the trip, we are still in contact and talking each day which is amazing.
– Jerry Engelman, Sunny Isles Beach, FL

What is your favorite memory from your trip?
I got to help organize a b’nai mitzvah, which was phenomenally fun and after 12 years of dreaming what it would be like, I finally got to pray at the Western Wall. It was overwhelming and beautiful.
