Roberta and Stanley Bogen generously opened their doors for Birthright Israel Foundation’s annual Palm Beach event. Guests were treated to inspiring remarks by Roberta Bogen, Birthright Israel co-founder Charles Bronfman, and alumni, highlighting the program’s profound impact.

From Waitlist to Deep Friendship

Chloe Bogen, a University of Texas at Austin graduate, captivated the audience with her story. Initially waitlisted for the classic 10-day trip, Chloe’s determination led her to connect directly with Birthright Israel and secure an open spot. Her journey didn’t end there. In Israel, Chloe forged a beautiful friendship with Yael Fuks, an Israeli participant. Chloe’s speech concluded with a heartfelt plea, urging the audience to support Birthright Israel and enable countless more friendships like hers to blossom.

A Soldier’s Story

Following Chloe, Sergeant Z, an alum, trip staffer, and IDF paratrooper, spoke under anonymity for security reasons. He shared his experiences fighting for Israel during the current conflict and emphasized Birthright Israel’s vital role in inspiring young Jewish adults.

Combating Antisemitism on Campus

Talia Dror, a Cornell University senior and alum, brought a crucial perspective. Talia spoke about her powerful testimony before the US House of Representatives, raising awareness about the rise of antisemitism on college campuses. “Birthright Israel programs are essential,” Talia stressed. “By taking students directly to Israel, they can experience the country firsthand and dispel the lies they often encounter on campus.”

Looking Forward with Hope

Charles Bronfman introduced Elias Saratovsky, the Foundation’s President and CEO, who provided updates on the program. The evening concluded with a powerful closing message from Ronnie Pertnoy, Chair of Palm Beach. Pertnoy reminded everyone of the collective responsibility to create a better world for future generations.
